Volunteer
Joining the PTA does not mean you are signing up for a volunteer commitment — members can be as involved as they would like. If you would like to volunteer at one of our PTA events or activities, we ask that you first become a PTA member. Pick a size that fits your life.
Twenty minutes
Sign up to bring snacks for our snack refills, or K-cups for the coffee in the teachers lounge. Drop them at the front office any time.
Laminating, cutting, stuffing folders. We send the materials home in your student's bag and you send them back.
Share our fundraisers and social media posts with your neighborhood group. It genuinely moves the numbers, and it costs you nothing.
One shift
Help set up, serve and tidy away. One of the warmest mornings of the year.
Help receive entries, set up the display and hand out prizes.
Help set up, greet our veterans and serve breakfast. Teardown crew always welcome too.
Help students choose and pay for gifts during shop week. Training takes about four minutes.
All year
The bridge between one teacher and 22 families. Coordinate class parties, teacher gifts and the sign-up chasing.
Shelve, scan and reshelve one morning a week, and help students find their next book.
Own an event end to end with a budget, a predecessor's handover notes and a board member on call.

Do this first
The background check
Cherokee County requires a background check for anyone volunteering during the school day. It is free, takes about ten minutes online, and lasts three years.
Do it now rather than the week of the event. Approval takes about 10 days, and every year a handful of parents miss the Spring Festival because they started too late.
When you need one
- Anything during the school day
- School events, as a helper or a chaperone
- Anywhere you would be alone with students
When you do not
Evening and weekend events where families are present, anything you do from home, and dropping something at the front office.

Volunteering is one of the best ways to be part of Holly Springs. You get to know the teachers, the staff and other families, and our students love seeing you in the building. Whatever time you have, we would love to have you.
